Una porta si è aperta nei nostri cuori

quanto sei arrivata Tu.

Una nuova linfa,

una nuova speranza

hai regalato alla nostra vita.

Hai saputo prenderti cura di noi

mentre giocavamo con te.

Come una regina hai padroneggiato i nostri spazi,

e tutto quello che condividevamo insieme a te.

Quante gioie e quante feste ci ha regalato

con i tuoi tiri da circense che di sovente facevi.

Era divertente vedere le tue bizzarrie:

nell’abbaiare i cani più grandi di te,

quando passavano dietro la siepe;

scapare quando un gatto vedevi o

mordicchiare una povera lucertola,

come fosse un giocattolo.

Annusavi tutto e tutto mangiavi,

qualunque cosa tu trovavi,

per poi arrivare con gli occhi languidi

chiedendo aiuto e restare colma e buona.

Quanto ti piaceva venire in cucina

non appena sentivi spadellare,

per poi ronzare attorno al tavolo

come dicendo: c’è qualcosa per me?

Al suono del campanello,

rispondevi per prima tu.

Abbaiavi a chicchessia

attirando la loro attenzione

e tornare tranquilla a gironzolare

negli spazi a te graditi.

Piccola Luce,

quella porta ora si è chiusa,

un nuovo portone fatto di luce

si è aperto per te.

Piccola Luce, sei nel nostro cuore

di te ci rimane la gioia che ci hai regalato

e un felice ricordo che non avrà mai fine…
